Important Update

Dear Soledad High School Community,
This morning, the Soledad Unified School District was notified by the Soledad Police Department of a social media post that contained a threatening message regarding Soledad High School and referenced a possible incident on Monday.
The Soledad Police Department immediately investigated the situation and was able to identify and make contact with the individual responsible for the post. The individual has been confirmed to be a Soledad High School student, and the student admitted to authoring the message. SPD has advised us that charges are pending.
Law enforcement has also advised the district that there was no indication that the individual had the means to carry out the threat. Based on the investigation, authorities believe there is no active threat to the school.
We take any threat to the safety of our students and staff extremely seriously. We appreciate the swift response and partnership of the Soledad Police Department in addressing this matter quickly.
The district will also address this situation through our student discipline policies.
As always, the safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priority. We encourage families to speak with their children about the importance of responsible social media use and reporting any concerning information to school staff or law enforcement.
Sincerely,
Randy Bangs,
Superintendent
